Ambassador: Dr. David Johnson

David Johnson, MD, is a native Ohioan and proud Buckeye who is currently a second-year Cardiology Fellow at Summa Health in Akron, Ohio. He earned his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Summa Health.
His clinical interests include interventional cardiology and cardiac critical care, with research focused on quality improvement and vascular disease. He is passionate about evidence-based cardiovascular care while contributing to advances in the field through clinical research and education.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys aviation, traveling, and exploring the history and craft of tiki cocktails.

The CardioNerds Ambassadors are fellows nominated by CardioNerds fellowships to represent education at their program. They are an esteemed group of highly motivated individuals with a passion for education. The goal is to both:

  • Foster their individual personal & professional development

The CardioNerds Healy Honor Roll is named after Dr. Bernadine Patricia Healy, a CardioNerd Hero who was the first female director of the National Institutes of Health and accomplished incredible achievements during her career.
